Increase Name Recognition Through Article Writing

If I said to you “McDonald’s, Toyota, Marlboro,” you would most likely immediately conjure up thoughts about fast food, cars, and cigarettes. This is because these names have been cemented in your brain and you automatically associate them with certain industries. Name recognition is a very important factor in creating a successful business in any industry, and what follows are a few key points to take heed of when attempting to increase your name recognition.

Any public relations expert will tell you name recognition alone can sell anything. Whether it’s a product or service, a business model, or simply an idea, people identify with brands or names they are repeatedly exposed to. Over 99% of consumers do not even consider a purchase after only seeing or hearing about something once. It takes multiple exposures to imprint a name in the consumers’ mind, and coerce them to subconsciously associate your name or brand with a certain product, service, or industry.

There are three main reasons to write articles to increase your name recognition:

1. To create awareness that you exist
2. To become known within a niche market
3. To develop an expert persona

Three important things to keep in mind when writing articles:

1. A solid tag-line or signature can be as valuable as a logo. Keep it prompt, professional, and personable.
2. Offer valuable information for FREE to your audience, preferably in lists. Readers like lists they can refer to.
3. Be sure to post your articles on your blog. You can also assemble multiple blog posts to create new articles. They compliment each other well.

Other ways to increase name recognition for your name or brand include:

1. Press releases – these are short “extra, extra, read all about it” types of promotions
2. Newsletters – email newsletters serve as periodicals people can look forward to
3. Workshops and seminars – great ways to reach certain, social, like-minded groups of people
4. Sponsoring local charitable events – puts you in public favor; high regards = high rewards

Writing articles gives you the ability to reach anyone interested in the subjects you write about. In effect, it brings you the best audience for your work, creating the potential for indirect rapport building. People are much more inclined to take advice from someone they’ve already learned something from. Make people crave the knowledge you have by showing them what kind of value you can provide within a niche market; write an article!

Everywhere You Go, There You Are

Ever feel like no matter what you do, you just can’t get ahead? No matter which opportunity you choose, it doesn’t feel right? No matter which lead generation methods you employ, they just never seem to pay off?

And what did you do? If you’re not making the kind of money you want to, I’ll bet it’s because you chose to change your business, or maybe your prospecting strategy.

Stop looking for the “right” business or the “right” industry. Stop looking for the “right” product or service. There is no such thing. Too many people are looking for something outside of themselves to achieve success.

The problem is, everywhere you go, there you are.

YOU are the ONLY constant factor in every single one of your failures. If YOU are the only constant within your own “success equation”, and you are also constantly failing, isn’t time to make yourself a variable instead of a constant?

Take responsibility for your actions, but more importantly, your inaction. Ultimately, it is your inaction that has landed you where you are.

Targeted Marketing – Defining Your Audience

Whether you’re selling a product, providing a service, or simply creating a website you need to consider your target market. You may not have considered them your target market, you may have considered them simply your audience. Nonetheless these are the people who are going to create your income. You need to be able to specifically define them and know what drives them to purchase things or clicks ads.

When attempting to define your audience or your target market, consider all of these important factors:

Age – You won’t sell a Hannah Montana CD to a 45 year-old; and if you do it’s for a child, not themselves. Hannah Montana is something that only appeals to a much younger demographic.

Gender – Males aren’t all that interested in make-up, so you wouldn’t want to target them if you were selling it. Obviously make-up is designated as a feminine element.

Income – A person’s financial situation determines many of the daily decisions they make. Targeting a lower-class neighborhood might not be a good idea if you’re looking for investors to donate funds to start a business.

Martial Status – Single people have different priorities than married people. Also, a person’s significant other has an enormous amount of influence over the other. Convincing one may compel the other to simply follow suit.

Geographic Location – People who live at the beach probably won’t be shopping for snowmobiles often. Likewise, people living in the arctic probably won’t be looking for snorkeling gear. Where in the world is your audience?

You also need to know your target market very well; know their wants, desires, needs, tendencies, and most of all their motivators. You want to motivate people to purchase your product or service, or simply return to your website at the very least, in the hope that eventually they will purchase your service or product. You could entice people with current, reliable, accurate, useful information or an effective ad campaign. If your content is of high value to your audience they will be motivated to acquire your newest content as soon as possible. Or in contrast you could offer some sort of service or product over the internet, promoting it through your website or blog. An e-book is the simplest form of this.

It takes some research, but once you’ve defined you target market you can begin to choose the most effective advertising campaigns to use. There is no question targeted content and ads are more effective than generalized content and ads. They have more influence over a targeted audience. The question is, will you decide to utilize this tool to your advantage?

A Life of Luxary

“How will the value of your days be measured? What will matter is not what you have, but what you gain. What will matter is not your success, but your significance. What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom, and for what. A life of meaning, and purpose, and happiness. That’s the greatest luxury of all.”

Blogging Is Like Sex – Do It Well, Do It Often, and Do It With Passion

When attempting to drive traffic to your website, an informative, up-to-date blog can be one your best resources. Constantly adding new content not only puts you in higher regard in your audiences’ eyes, but search engines also favor you more for updating often. That being said, your blog posts needs to hold high value to your readers in order for them to desire to read them.

This applies whether you’re executing a pay-per-click ad campaign, attempting to generate leads for an affiliate program or any other business, or simply want to provide the public with solid, reliable information about a niche market.

If you don’t understand my analogy from the title, I’ll break it down for you with a list.

1. Do It Well – Make sure your content is original. Not only would it suck to have to deal with a lawsuit for copyright infringement, but search engines actually penalize sites with duplicate information. Plus, you know people don’t want to read the same thing over and over, right? You need to be able to adequately define, describe, or debunk an issue your audience will be interested in. Only then will they be willing to pay attention to what you have to say. Be competent!

2. Do It Often – When it comes to your blog or website, you want to update it often. Stale content doesn’t generate page views nearly as well as new content does. It’s also a great way to get repeat visitors, which in turn builds a community. When people are waiting for what you’re going to say next, it’s safe to say your website will probably be generating some revenue; it could be people signing up as customers or affiliates for your business, or just a few ad clicks. The point is, you need to keep current information flowing all the time. Keep it fresh people!

3. Do It With Passion – Write about something you know and are comfortable with. This will help you create the most valuable content for your visitors. It also helps to make the work of creating the content seem like leisure at times, which is a luxury to say the least. People like sincerity, and if you can convey it in your writing you’ll find you get a great response. Keep it real!

The first step to a successful revenue strategy is driving traffic. Follow these simple tips and you’ll attract more traffic to your website indefinitely. Remember: Be competent, stay fresh, and keep it real!
